18A- Customer Avatar
My avatar is a 21 year old female, who is currently attending college. She is health conscious, but stays busy with classes, homework, clubs, work, and social commitments. She lives with three roommates, in an apartment somewhat near campus and she rides the bus to campus. She enjoys reading, painting, and cooking when she has any free time. She is successful in school and in the clubs she's involved in. She is interested in keeping up with politics, but she agrees with different points from each party. She comes from a middle class family and relies on her small income, loans, and scholarships to pay for school. She works in a local restaurant near her apartment, as a hostess.
I actually didn't realize how much I have in common with my avatar until I had finished describing the customer that I think would be most interested. As a college student that is interested in cooking for myself, I think that I have an essential commonality with my avatar, that influences my product. My avatar actually has a lot in common with some of my friends, who's frustration with food products inspired my idea.

Nancy,
ReplyDeleteAs mentioned in one of your other posts, our target groups are quite similar, with the exception that yours represent the younger generation while mine represent what some of your target audience may become. I realized while writing my own customer avatar that I see myself becoming the avatar in the future, and interestingly enough, I already see myself fitting your avatar description to some degree.
Hey there Nancy,
ReplyDeleteI agree a lot with Maria as well, and all of our target groups are very similiar. The same realization happened to me after I had finished writing the post about how much I have in common with my avatar. I believe the reason we both think this is because we both developed products based on a "need" or "problem" in our life. And that is also why I believe the target age is generally our age as well, since people learn to adapt around their unmet needs as they grow older. It is interesting to see that other people ended up with the same general conclusions that I did after this assignment.
Nancy,
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job accurately depicting your customer avatar. All the details and effort that you put into this will greatly help you for assignments to come. Just as you said in your article, I didn't realize how similar I would be to my avatar as well. I guess subconsciously I created this whole business idea based around my interests and when it comes down to it, I am my own customer avatar.
