23A- What makes you so special?

1. Marketing experience My food and product marketing experience in unique and inimitable, because it is my particular skill set. There may be a wide range of people talentented or interested in marketing, but none of them will market a product the same exact way I will, because their experiences and knowledge are completely different. 2. Leadership experience Like my marketing experience, my leadership style may mirror others' in certain aspects, but they are unique in many ways. My life experiences and leadership opportunities have allowed me to be focused on servant leadership and strong leadership qualities. My goal would be to not only apply these to my work ethic, but implement them in my company team. 3. Cost effectiveness This product may seem more expensive, since you're not buying in bulk, but it would only be a few more cents per unit of the product. It would actually save money in the long run, because when the person cooking is not wasting the food, th...

22A Elevator Pitch #3

Image
Pitch: Reflection: To be honest, I didn't feel like my third pitch was my best. I tried more than once, but I'm sick so I apologize for it not being so great. I did find that, unlike my first pitch, I had a lot more information that I actually had a harder time keeping it quick and concise. The feedback I received helped me organize my thoughts and make my business plan clear and concise. It helped me highlight the important unique qualities of my product.

20A Growing Your Social Capital

Daniel Erneston  Owns a large produce stand, where he sells fresh produce to a large range of individuals and also sells in local grocery stores. Domain Expert I found this person, because they have been a family friend for years, and I was able to email him with questions about selling in this market.  He was able to explain how pricing works per unit and if it would be possible to sell my product at a competitive and reasonable price.  His explanation on pricing benefitted my product a lot. He explained that a lot of bulk buying is done to save money, but when the food ends up wasted, that money is lost anyway. Bulk selling only benefits the seller in that they sell more of the product at once, therefore able to make each unit of the product slightly cheaper. The best way for my business to keep the price reasonable low and still make a profit, relies on marketing it well. My marketing strategy should be rooted in the wasted food = wasted money in the long run. ...

19A- Idea Napkin #2

1) You.  Since my senior year in high school I have had experience as a part of a large, innovative business. I have worked at a Chick-fil-A restaurant for 3 years now, as the graphics and social media marketing specialist. I have a extensive experience with customer service and promoting food products. My experience with food service and marketing makes me understand the production side of this product. As a single college student, I am also able to understand the  2)  What are you offering to customers?  The product I am proposing is smaller portioned food and ingredients sold in grocery stores. This allows for single individuals to cook for themselves, without wasting any products. This product is unique, because other food product companies are not concerned or empathetic to your waste problem. They sell products in oversized portions, without concern for the individuals needs. The only products currently offered are microwaveable meals, whether frozen or...

18A- Customer Avatar

Image
My avatar is a 21 year old female, who is currently attending college. She is health conscious, but stays busy with classes, homework, clubs, work, and social commitments. She lives with three roommates, in an apartment somewhat near campus and she rides the bus to campus. She enjoys reading, painting, and cooking when she has any free time. She is successful in school and in the clubs she's involved in. She is interested in keeping up with politics, but she agrees with different points from each party. She comes from a middle class family and relies on her small income, loans, and scholarships to pay for school. She works in a local restaurant near her apartment, as a hostess. I actually didn't realize how much I have in common with my avatar until I had finished describing the customer that I think would be most interested. As a college student that is interested in cooking for myself, I think that I have an essential commonality with my avatar, that influences my pr...

15A- Figuring Out Buyer Behavior #2

For this section of buyer behavior, I narrowed my segment slightly. I chose single, undergraduate college students at UF (ages 18-23), that cook for themselves, shop for food themselves, and do not share food with roommates or anyone else. Currently, without the opportunity to purchase smaller portioned food, they have to cope with large portions. One of the individuals I interviewed, currently tries to prepare meals in advance for the week. This saves time and money, because it decreases waste and allows for the time commitment to be contained to a single day. However, this requires a lot of time and fridge space, and makes the meals repetitive, so they quickly tire of these options. The other interviewee uses an online ordering service that delivers ingredients to cook. This is convenient due to it being online and the smaller portions, but it doesn't allow for freedom cooking. The last person, just buys the large portions from the grocery store, and whatever is not us...

14A- halfway reflection

Image
1)  Tenaciousness is a competency. This course requires perseverance and dedication. Most classes require these qualities, so I already practiced them in the past, but this class requires a different form of them. This class requires more than perseverance in dutifully submitting assignments, it is important to invest time. The more you invest, the more you get out of this class and the things you learn in this class are essential foundations for any entrepreneurial situation.   2)  Tenaciousness is also about attitude.  Moments when I felt like giving up were usually connected to the amount of homework I have. In the midst of a lot of classes, homework and studying can tend to pile up. Times when I felt like giving up had to do with not feeling like I had the time to commit to doing the assignments well. Like I said, it's important to dedicate time to this, so I feel like the things that I got out of each assignment motivated me to have a tenacious attitud...
